Post-Nuptial Agreements are agreements entered between husband and wife to allocate assets acquired during the marriage. Usually some sort of payment or consideration is made between spouses. A list of assets to be considered separate to each party is attached to the document.
The parties typically waive rights to inheritance and support established by marriage including alimony, rights to share in the estate of the surviving spouse and rights to a year’s allowance.
